Jammu, January 22:
According to the Meteorological Center Srinagar, there may be rain and snowfall in some parts of the state on Wednesday. Earlier, Kashmir’s world famous tourist places Gulmarg and Sonamarg witnessed snowfall overnight on Monday. Snow has also fallen at Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh National Highway and some other high altitude areas of the valley. However, due to the continuous clear weather, the day temperature in most parts of the state is 2 to 6 degrees above normal.
There were light clouds in some parts of Kashmir. In the capital Srinagar, the day temperature rose 4.3 degrees to 11.1 degrees. The minimum night temperature was recorded at 1.0 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 7.6 in Pahalgam and 0.2 degree Celsius in Gulmarg. In Jammu, the weather remained clear amidst light clouds. Here the day temperature rose 5.8 degrees to 23.3 and the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.0 degree Celsius. The maximum temperature was recorded at 12.6 in Banihal, 15.1 in Batote, 20.8 in Kathua and 13.6 degrees Celsius in Bhaderwah. The maximum temperature in Leh was 5.2 degree Celsius.
