Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene confirmed that Bumrah will be available for the team’s next match.
Mumbai Indians are to face RCB at the Wankhede Stadium on Monday in the IPL 2025 match. Before the match, the franchise released a video in which Bumrah has joined the team after completing rehab from the Center of Excellence in Bangalore. Regarding Bumrah’s availability, Jayawardene revealed that the fast bowler will be available for the team’s next match.
Jayawardene said in the pre-match press conference, Bumrah arrived here last night. He completed his session at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and he is under the supervision of our physio, so he bowled today and everything is fine now.
Mumbai Indians have so far played four matches in IPL 2025, winning one and losing three. In Bumrah’s absence, Satyanarayana Raju, Vignesh Puthur and Ashwini Kumar were made to debut. In Bumrah’s absence, Trent Boult and Deepak Chahar are leading the fast bowling attack and captain Hardik Pandya is the other seam-bowling option in the line-up. This bowling line-up will become stronger with Bumrah’s return. Bumrah made his IPL debut in 2013 and has been a part of the Mumbai team in every season so far. He has taken 165 wickets in 133 matches in this league. He could not play only in IPL 2023 due to injury. Even then he was suffering from back stress fracture. (Agencies)
