Srinagar, August 2:
Heavy rains lashed Bandipora district since Sunday morning, affecting normal life, officials said.
Incessant rains led to flash flood-like conditions in many areas. Several parts of the district, including the Srinagar-Bandipora road, witnessed waterlogging.
The rains caused the water level in local drains and streams to rise sharply, flooding low-lying areas and overflowing drains in many places. Traffic movement was affected due to waterlogging on several stretches of roads and causing inconvenience to motorists and commuters.
The administration is monitoring the situation and the situation is being taken stock in the affected areas. In view of the incessant rains, people have been appealed to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
