Jammu, March 3:
First budget session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly after seven years, Lieutenant Governor presented development roadmap.
In his address, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha highlighted various aspects of development of Jammu and Kashmir. He elaborated on the government’s schemes and efforts for the overall development of the state.
LG also prioritized the development of agriculture and handicrafts of the Union Territory, calling the Amarnath Yatra an important part of the state’s economy. He mentioned the Ayushman Yojana, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s schemes, and emergency care services.
TB free districts and development of infrastructure
Manoj Sinha announced three districts to be declared TB free and emphasized on the development of infrastructure. He mentioned the work being done to increase the number of seats in the medical sector and improve health services.
Steps towards a healthy Jammu and Kashmir
Schemes like Atal Ticketing Lab, Skill Development, and Teacher Attendance Tracking are being worked on to improve the health sector. Several steps have also been taken to increase the quality of education.
Entrepreneurship Culture and Green Transport Initiative
The Lt Governor spoke about promoting entrepreneurship culture in Jammu and Kashmir and plans to promote eco-friendly mobility by referring to Green Transport Initiative.
Women Empowerment and Gender Equality
Women empowerment is being given priority in the state, with more than 90,000 self-help groups active. He also mentioned schemes like gender equality and Lakhpati Didi.
Special schemes for Kashmiri migrants
The Lt Governor also spoke in detail about the schemes being made for Kashmiri migrants, especially freedom of press.
Last part of the address
In this 42-minute address, the Lt Governor expressed his resolve to take Jammu and Kashmir in a new direction. During this, Sajjad Lone, Tariq Hameed Karra, Tarigami, and G A Mir maintained silence and refused to say anything.
