Now farmers’ crops will neither be damaged by disease nor will they have to use more fertilizers. Because, now farmers will be able to detect the diseases in crops themselves sitting at home. All this will be possible with the Kisan Kit. This kit has been prepared by Dr. Nancy, a researcher at the School of Biotechnology of Jammu University.
With its help, the disease can be detected in a few minutes. With the help of Kisan Kit, farmers will be able to detect the diseases affecting the crops very easily. According to Dr. Nancy, the infected plant or soil can be tested with the lamp technology.
If the infected plant or soil is dipped in a pink coloured solution and its colour changes, it confirms the disease. If the colour does not change, then the plant is safe. According to Nancy, every disease has a different marker gene, based on which diseases can be identified.
This has made it easier to use it in other crops. It will be very easy to use. He said that he has worked on this project for three years in the School of Biotechnology under the guidance of Prof. Jyoti Vaklu.
