Ganderbal, April 23:
The district administration, in collaboration with the Ganderbal police, organised a large-scale civil defence mock drill at the Government Degree College (GDC) Ganderbal on Thursday.
The objective of the exercise was to experience real time emergency situations including power outages and crisis situations.
The aim was to raise awareness among students, staff, and the general public and strengthen the response mechanism.
The participants were briefed about the various emergency protocols that were carried out in the evacuation process.
The initiative highlighted the importance of preparedness at both the institutional and community levels.
The civil administration, the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), and the traffic police actively participated in the exercise, showcasing a well-organized and integrated response mechanism. Their coordinated efforts reflected the district’s commitment to creating a resilient and quick-response disaster management system.
