Srinagar, March 8:
The government on Sunday decided to reopen all educational institutions in the Kashmir region on Monday. The decision comes a week after the government ordered the closure of all educational institutions as a precautionary measure. Education Minister Sakina Ittu said that schools, colleges and universities in all districts of the Kashmir region will reopen on Monday.
A week ago, the government had ordered the closure of schools and colleges across the Kashmir region to ensure the safety of students. After the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in the US-Israel joint strike, massive protests had started across Jammu and Kashmir.
Schools up to class 8 will reopen tomorrow after more than two months of winter vacations. Earlier on February 23, after a winter break of over 70 days, schools in Kashmir division and winter zones of Jammu division resumed classes 9 to 12.
