Srinagar, July 31:
Strong water flow was reported near the Amarnath holy cave shrine following heavy rains. In view of the situation, the administration and security agencies have stepped up vigilance and special attention is being kept on the safety of the devotees, volunteers and all personnel on duty associated with the Amarnath Yatra.
According to officials, precautionary measures have been taken at present and the entire area is being monitored continuously. The situation is being assessed from time to time so that the yatra can continue safely and smoothly. The administration has appealed to the devotees not to pay heed to rumours and only follow official instructions.
