Amarnath Yatra 2026: Commissioner Anshul Garg reviews preparations at the airport, crowd flocks to Jammu for tokens

Srinagar, June 30:
The administration has intensified preparations to make the Amarnath Yatra safe, smooth and orderly. On Tuesday, Kashmir Divisional Commissioner Anshul Garg conducted a detailed inspection of the arrangements at the Srinagar International Airport.

During the inspection, he reviewed the e-KYC counters, Yatra Facilitation Centre, Passenger Reception Area and other necessary facilities.

On this occasion, senior officials of the Civil Administration, Airport Authority, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CISF briefed him about the preparations and coordination arrangements.

The Divisional Commissioner directed the officials to ensure speedy resolution of the problems of the passengers. He said that strong coordination and effective communication system among all agencies is very important.

The administration informed that the facilities for the yatra have been expanded in a big way this year. A total of 131 registration facilitation centres have been created in 2026 as compared to 54 centres in 2025. These include e-KYC counters from 21 to 59, RFID counters from 20 to 32 and on-spot registration counters from 13 to 40. These additional facilities have been set up at prominent locations like Panthachowk, Srinagar Airport and Railway Station Nowgam.
