Srinagar, July 4:
Lieutenant Governor, Shri Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level review meeting. The meeting is to assess the overall management and ground situation of the ongoing Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026. The Lt Governor reviewed the movement of pilgrims, traffic management, security arrangements, accommodation and other logistical aspects.
During the meeting, it was observed that a large number of pilgrims are coming without valid registration. It leads to long waits for pilgrims to undertake.
The Lt Governor emphasized that as per the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court.
The yatra is being undertaken as per the prescribed limit for movement of pilgrims on the track. Therefore, it is imperative to adhere to the registration schedule to ensure the safety and convenience of all pilgrims.
The Lt Governor appealed to the pilgrims who wish to travel without registration to postpone their journey for the next few days to avoid any trouble on arrival in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Lt Governor also reviewed the security and logistical arrangements for the yatra.
