Jammu, November 22:
A 3.2 kilometer long railway tunnel that took 20 years to build. The biggest challenge was the rapid leakage of water inside the tunnel. And the debris that came out with it.
For this, 10 different companies were called one by one. The technology was changed, but all the companies failed. Then the help of foreign experts was taken. State-of-the-art technology was used and now the work of this tunnel is about to be completed.
At present, about 600 experts, engineers and other workers are working day and night inside the T-1 tunnel. Which is being constructed near Katra under the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project. As all the work has to be completed by December 31. It is expected that PM Modi may flag off the first Vande Bharat sleeper train from New Delhi to Kashmir in January.
Railway company implemented NATM (New Austria Tunneling Method) with the help of foreign experts to stop the leakage of water. The structure of this tunnel is in the shape of a horseshoe. Instead of stopping the water. Now the leakage has stopped. It is claimed that there will be no problem for more than 100 years.
