With this, India has also avenged its defeat in the final of the 2023 ODI World Cup against Australia. The Indian team has reached the final while remaining unbeaten in the tournament. This is the third consecutive time that India has managed to make it to the title match of the limited overs format ICC tournament. India had earlier made it to the finals of the 2023 ODI World Cup, 2024 T20 World Cup and now it has also managed to reach the title match of the Champions Trophy.
In this match, Australia captain Steve Smith decided to bat first and scored 264 runs in 49.3 overs. Chasing the target, Kohli once again proved to be the chase master and scored 84 runs off 98 balls with the help of five fours, with the help of which India won the match by scoring 267 runs for six wickets in 48.1 overs.
