Worsened weather in Jammu and Kashmir, heavy rain and snowfall alert in many areas

Jammu, March 10:
The India Meteorological Department has issued a weather change warning in Jammu and Kashmir. The department has issued a yellow alert in Jammu division and an orange alert in Kashmir division on Tuesday.

Under the influence of a fresh western disturbance, light to moderate rain and snowfall in higher reaches are likely in both the divisions.

According to the Meteorological Department, light to moderate rain/snowfall may occur at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir till March 12.

The heavy rain or snowfall is also possible at some places. Light rain and light snowfall are expected in some areas in Jammu. The light rain with light rain and light to moderate snowfall may occur in high hilly areas under orange alert in Srinagar.

The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to suspend agricultural activities due to inclement weather from March 10 to 12.

According to the department, the maximum temperature in Jammu will be around 31 degrees Celsius. The minimum will be around 17 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Srinagar will be around 20 degrees and the minimum will be around 05 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Jammu dropped by 5-6 degrees Celsius and in Srinagar by 7-8 degrees. According to the department’s forecast, the temperature may drop by 4-5 degrees at various stations by March 12. People have been appealed to keep an eye on weather updates, take precautions while travelling.
