‘We became homeless, but we are happy that the country took revenge’, what did the people of Kashmir say about the firing by Pakistani army on LoC?

Uri, May 8:

People were fast asleep when the LoC erupted with shelling late Tuesday night.

Fearing that the war might start. People got terrified and switched off the electricity and ran towards the bunker, while some hid in their homes. Somehow people saved their lives.

After the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor, the furious Pakistani Army targeted residential areas from midnight to morning. Mohammad Asim Sheikh of Kamalkot village in Uri area near the Line of Control said that tension had spread in our border area after the Pahalgam attack.

There was a fear that people across the border would harm us in some way. Sensing the situation, we had made preparations in advance. We had kept bunkers ready in our homes.

Syed Savir of Kamalkot said that we had prayed that our borders remain silent. We have been displaced from our homes again, however we are happy that the country has taken revenge from Pakistan for Pahalgam.
