Adding a golden chapter in the history of Indian Railways and Jammu and Kashmir. The state-of-the-art Jammu-Srinagar Vande Bharat Express has achieved the unprecedented milestone. It ferry’s over one lakh one thousand fifty passengers safely and comfortably in just 22 days.
This indigenous semi-high-speed train has proved itself to be the true lifeline of the region by bridging the geographical distance between the Jammu and Kashmir Valley.
After being flagged off by Hon’ble Union Minister of Railways on 30th April 2026. The regular operations of the train commenced from 2nd May 2026.
Since then, it has set a new record of popularity among passengers.
In the last 22 days, Vande Bharat Express has operated with excellent punctuality.
Expressing his happiness on this significant achievement, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Uchit Singal said that it is a moment of immense pride for Northern Railway. He said more than one lakh 1 thousand fifty passengers journey in just 22 days from the commencement of the service.
There has been a very positive response from passengers regarding the comfort, safety and hospitality of the train. This train has done away with the traditional fatigue of the Jammu-Srinagar route.
