A meeting of J & K United School Teachers Association (USTA) affiliated with School Teachers Federation of India was held under the chairmanship of Pardeep Singh Working President and discussed present education scenario and long pending demands of teaching community viz.,
- Release of transfer orders of teachers and masters under ATD 2022, and suitable adjustments of teachers, masters, headmasters and lecturers who are suffering from chronical and life consuming diseases or under serious medical conditions.
- Implement transfer policy for grade 2, grade 3 teachers especially for married female.
- Allocation of funds to facilitate biometric attendance and to maintain day to day expenditure especially in primary and middle schools.
- Fill existing vacant posts of masters, headmasters, lecturers and fourth class by DPC and teachers by new appointments.
- Regularise all in charge lecturers, headmasters, ZEOs, and other officers instead of assigning look after charge.
- Withdraw teachers from all type of non-academic duties.
- Clear pending time bound promotion cases of masters.
- Clear permission cases files to acquire higher qualifications.
- Clear pending salary of lecturers.
- Clear pending liabilities of retired persons from education department.
While speaking on the occasion working president Pardeep Singh expressed deep concern over the lackadaisical attitude of government towards the just and genuine long pending demands of teaching community. He fervently appealed the authorities to issue transfer orders of teachers and masters under ATD 2022. As most of them are working in far-flung areas for last more than four years. It is matter of grave concern that those at the helm of affairs are constantly asking about status of biometric attendance in middle and primary schools where there is paucity of funds. Employees are being forced to shell out heavy amounts from their pockets which is not possible, and demanded to provide sufficient budget for purchase of biometric machine and meet out other day to day expenditure particularly to primary and middle schools. Others who were present in the meeting includes Younus Rahi, Roop Chand, Rajeev Kumar, Kanta Devi, Sunil Thapa, Thudu Ram, Kishori Lal, Anju Saini, Sandesh Kumar, Zulifkar, Anuradha Devi, Raj Kumar and many others.
