Jammu, March 28:
Udhampur police rescued a total of 22 cattle while intercepting three separate cases of cattle smuggling. In the first case, the police stopped a truck during the investigation. The investigation found 14 cattle in the truck, which were being transported in a brutal manner without any valid permission.
In the second case, a vehicle was stopped by the police during the blockade. The investigation revealed that there were 4 cows in the vehicle, which were also being transported without valid permission. The accused Jamaat Ali, son of Munir Hussain, resident of Nikki Tavi, Jammu were arrested and the vehicle was seized.
In the third case too, the police stopped another vehicle during the blockade. 4 cattle were found in the vehicle. In this case, the accused Mohammad Jasin, son of Mohammad Yakub, resident of Nikki Tawi, Jammu were arrested and the vehicle was seized. The police said they are vigilant to stop cattle smuggling and take strict action in such cases.
