Shiv Mandir burglary case solved within 24 hrs

Kishtwar, February 3:
A written complaint was lodged at P/S Kishtwar by the members of Shiv Mandir committee Kishtwar* stating therein that some unknown thieves entered into the temple during the night hours and stole away some cash from the Safe of Shiv Mandir.
Subsequently, a case FIR No. 19/2023 U/S 457/380 IPC got registered at P/S Kishtwar, and investigation started.
On this incident SSP Kishtwar Sh. Khalil Poswal-JKPS constituted a Special team* headed by SHO P/S Kishtwar Inspr. Abid Bukhari under supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs Kishtwar Sh. Ashish Gupta.
During the investigation, special team rounded up many suspects for questioning with the assistance of technical teams.
After strenuous efforts the team could finally nab the accused persons namely Sameer Sharma S/o Srikrishan Sharma R/o Panditgam Kishtwar and another one is juvenile name is (withheld) involved in the commission of crime, they were put to sustained interrogation in which they disclosed to have committed the theft. On the disclosure of the accused, recovery of Rs. 5500/- was made by the investigation team. Further investigation is going on to ascertain their involvement in other cases also.
It is pertinent to mention here in that the above-mentioned thief namely Sameer Sharma is habitual as he has remained involved in many previous cases also.
SSP Kishtwar Mr. Poswal-JKPS express that the whole town is under CCTV coverage and the activities whatsoever going on are being minutely monitored 24×7 by specialized team constituted at CCTV surveillance unit of Kishtwar Police.
SSP Kishtwar also appeals to General Public to report such incidents happening in their area so that culprits shall be booked under law.
