Sumbal, September 16:
Scores of traders accompanied with locals in Sumbal division of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Friday staged a protest demonstration against authorities for failed to construct footbridge.
The aggrieved shopkeepers who assembled at main market Sumbal raised slogans against administration and demanded foot bridge and other development works in the town .
Traders Federation has observed complete shutdown which was following the protest to press for their demands.
Traders Federation Sumbal president Nazir Ahmad said that main aim to observe complete shutdown is to awake the administration from deep slumber .
We have been running from pillar to post for the construction of foot bridge which connects Sumbal to Naninara area.
We are demanding foot bridge be build on war footing basis which will ease the problems as Sumbal has divided into two parts in absence of bridge .
Nazir said in absence of foot bridge in the town is affecting the taking business community of the town.
Moreover there are some other works pending from last so many years like Nand Kishore park Sumbal ,new bridge park and furthermore Sumbal town has not seen any developmental work since long.
Shopkeepers urged the LG administration for construction foot bridge which they will give relief to business community in the town.
The protesters threatened to prolong the agitation if the demands were not at earliest.
