Jammu, January 16:
The police have arrested two accused in connection with the theft of mobile phones and cheating of one lakh rupees.
They have been identified as Ibrahim Hussain Rather of Baramulla and Ishfaq Ahmad Parre, from Budgam.
According to the police, zero FIR was transferred. The complainant had alleged that the mobile phone was stolen from the Watchtower.
The accused transferred around one lakh rupees from the complainant’s account to various accounts with the help of mobile.
During the investigation, the team of the city police station found that the accused transferred Rs 40,000 each in two installments to some persons living in Kashmir and bought a mobile phone worth Rs 21,000. The police raided several places including Belichrana, Jewel and Watchtower. On Thursday, both the accused were arrested from Jammu and mobile phones were recovered.
Thieves broke the locks of a grocery shop in Dayoli village on Wednesday night and stole goods and cash. Shopkeeper Ravindra Kumar said that when he reached the shop on Thursday morning, the locks were broken. When I opened the shutter, the luggage inside and the cash kept in the neck were missing.
