Kalimasta, Ramban, February 3:
To equip local women with necessary skills and equipment, a project of Tailoring Cadre and Distribution of Sewing Machine to women residing in far flung area of Kalimasta was conducted under the theme of “Women Empowerment” commenced from 12 Jan 23 under Sadhbhavna.
Aim of the project was to get local women into the national mainstream through skill development and provide employment opportunities to them.
In a statement issued to mercury times, the project includes Tailoring Cadre for seven days for 25 selected needy women with the help of a instructor starting from 12th Jan 23, wherein ladies were taught basic skills of stiching, modification and repair of dresses. The project was culminated by distribution of Sewing Machines and an awareness lecture about Government Schemes for women. The event was attended by DDC member and village appointments.
The project would assist local women in becoming self reliant and contribute financially towards progress of their family. The event would go a long way in winning hearts and minds of local populace and strengthening the bond between the Indian Army and Awam.
