Jammu, October 20:
Jodhpur: Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk, who is lodged in the Jodhpur Central Jail under the National Security Act (NSA), has ordered books on the structure of the economy. They want to do building experiments on Jodhpuri clay behind the jail walls.
Sonam Wangchuk’s wife Dr. Geetanjali J. Angmo has told about Sonam Wangchuk’s wish on her X handle. She said she would take the books to Jodhpur for Wangchuk on the next hearing. The hearing in Sonam’s case is on October 29.
Earlier on October 15, before the hearing, Wangchuk had asked his wife for a children’s encyclopedia. The first hearing on the petition for Wangchuk’s arrest was held on October 6. Environmental activist Sonam Wangchuk was arrested from Leh after the Leh violence on September 24.
From here he was taken to Jodhpur jail in Rajasthan. They were on hunger strike demanding statehood for Ladakh and inclusion in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution. The local administration had accused him of inciting the youth.
