Jammu, December 11:
Shri Kailakh Jyotish evam Vedic Sanathan Trust President Mahant Rohit Shastri along with other members of the trust, met Parikshat Singh Manhas, Chairman, Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education, and presented a self-written book to him. While informing him about the efforts being made by the trust to promote and propagate Devvani Sanskrit and the social works undertaken, Shastri reiterated his demand that Sanskrit language should be made compulsory in the first class in the schools of Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued to mercury times, Shastri said that the land of Jammu and Kashmir has been the eternal centre of Shaiv Darshan. This holy land has produced a great number of Sanskrit sages, such as, Acharya Abhinavgupta, the founder of Pratyabhijnadarshan, great poet Kalhan, great poet Vilhan, etc. These Acharyas had paved the way for uniting not only India but the whole world through Sanskrit but, but sadly, this ancient legacy was on the verge of extinction in the Punyasalila land of Jammu-Kashmir. However, with the arrival of Sh. Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Devvani Sanskrit has received a big boost. If the government fulfils our demands, then the morale of Sanskrit workers would rise further and it would become possible to restore the lost Sanskrit religion-philosophy in the state.
On this occasion Trustees of Trust trustee, Parbodh Sharma, Jagdev Singh Chib, Uttam Chand Sharma,Suman Shastri,Naresh Raina and others were present.
