A major incident was averted in Kashwa Zainapora area of Shopian district when security forces detected and destroyed an IED. According to sources, the IED was found by security agencies during a routine search operation. The device was placed at a strategic location. If it detonated could have caused huge loss of life.
Bomb disposal team was immediately called and later it was destroyed. The prompt action of the security forces ensured safety of the local population. Senior officers appreciated the vigilance and promptness of the security forces.
