Jammu, April 29:
After the terrorist encounter in Basantgarh area of Udhampur, security forces including police have increased vigilance. Intensive search of passengers and vehicles is being done by setting up a special checkpoint at Jakhaini on the city’s Chowk intersections and Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Along with checking the luggage of the passengers closely, identity cards are also being checked.
Police have increased patrolling in the city. Blocks have also been put up on major routes connecting the city. Police and security personnel have been deployed at various places. To arrest the terrorists, security forces have surrounded the area from all sides. The checkpoints on the highway have also been alerted. The search operation is going on amid bad weather.
