Jammu, January 29:
Security forces have been conducting a massive operation in Kishtwar district in search of terrorists for the last 11 days. Despite heavy snowfall and difficult weather, the cordon has been strengthened in Singhpora and the surrounding dense forests. Meanwhile, the police have detained two to three people for questioning, sources said.
Security forces also searched the forests on Wednesday. Strict cordon has been put on the escape routes of the terrorists. The terrorists are trying to escape but are surrounded by a strong cordon. According to sources, the search operation has been intensified after the destruction of a big hideout of the terrorists in Singhpora. Despite the snowfall, pressure remains in the entire region. This was the reason why there was a second encounter with the terrorists late on the night of 25 January. The security forces are aware of the surrounding of the terrorists, so they do not want to leave any slack.
Security forces are constantly searching high altitude areas, hilly paths and drains in dense forests. The Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and paramilitary forces are patrolling the area day and night despite snow-covered roads, slippery and low temperatures. Additional forces have been deployed in Singhpora and nearby villages and other sensitive places.
