Kishtwar, Oct. 21: The National Police Day or Police Commemoration Day was observed at District Headquarters Kishtwar.
In this connection, an elaborated function was organized in the District Police office Kishtwar.
The Senior Superintendent of Police Kishtwar Dr. Harmeet Singh Mehta took the salute of the Commemoration Day Parade.
The Brigade Commander, 09 Sector, Commandants of Army and CAPF attended the function beside the local police, respectables and the NoKs of the martyrs.
The territorial officers of police and media also attended the function.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP Kishtwar paid rich tributes to all those martyrs who laid down their lives for unity and integrity of the nation and protecting the life and property of the people in different parts of the country. He read out the list of brave martyrs of the country and paid rich tributes to them.
He said that the best tribute to the martyrs is to carry forward their mission of protection of life and property of the people in an honest manner without any fear, favour or consideration and by defending the integrity and sovereignty of the country in a professional manner. This was followed by laying of wreaths and showering of flowers by the officers, jawans, guests and the members of martyrs’ families.
Later SSP Kishtwar interacted with the NoKs of the martyrs and listened to their grievances and issued on the spot instructions for their redressal.
