The inauguration of the Srinagar-Katra Vande Bharat rail service and Udhampur-Katra-Banihal-Srinagar rail link project may be postponed for the time being as Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir on April 19 is reported to be postponed.
Although the railways have not officially given any reason in this regard.

Sources say that the program has been postponed due to bad weather. According to the MeT Deptt, the weather in Katra and its surrounding areas will be bad on 18-19 April.
The Udhampur-Katra-Reasi-Banihal-Srinagar-Baramulla railway project is one of the most strategically important infrastructure projects.
