Sikhs condemn the attack on the holiest of Sikh Shrines Gurudwara Nankaana Sahib at Lahore in Pakistan, said, S. Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman Sikh United Front, J&K, while addressing a joint press conference of various sikh organizations Mr. Wazir called upon the Pakistan government especially Mr. Imran Khan to ensure the safety and protection of all Sikh shrines located in Pakistan and also the people belonging to all minority communities . Reminding Mr. Imran Khan of his statement made recently equating Gurudwaara Nankaana Sahib and Kartarpur Sahib to Mecca and Medina and then failing to protect the sanctity of these Sikh shrines speaks volumes about the hollow slogans and theatrics of Mr. Imran Khan. Mr. Wazir further said that the actions of Pakistan government in coming days against the perpetrators of this attack on Gurudwara Nankaana Sahib will indicate the real self of Pakistan establishment.
While addressing the media Mr. Wazir called upon all the progressive forces in general and the Sikhs in particular to protest the unruly conduct of the miscreants at Gurudwara Nankaana Sahib by assembling peacefully outside respective Gurudwaras in their localities on Sunday morning, to send a strong signal to the forces who are inimical to the peace and tranquility in the region . He further warned such elements that the peace loving Sikhs will not allow the communal harmony and the goodwill among various communities existing in the Indian sub continent to be disturbed and destroyed.
Mr. Wazir further said that Sikhs are the ones who have been the protectors of all religious places belonging to every religion all over the world and fiddling with the sentiments of the Sikhs can produce disastrous results .
He warned Pakistan government to ensure the safety and security of all people belonging to minorities living in Pakistan and also to make sure that their religion and shrines are safe otherwise the existing instability in Pakistan may result into its further disintegration. Mr. Wazir further expressed his strong resentment and dismay at the discerning happening taking place at the birth place of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, especially during the celebrations being held for 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji , despite the fact that Guru Nanak Dev ji was revered as a Saint and a peer both by Hindus and Muslims alike during and after his lifetime.
All the Sikh organisations participating in the press conference lambasted the Pakistan government in one voice and warned of a direct action against the miscreants and the Pakistan establishment if no immediate action is taken against the rogues. These organisations also appealed to Government of India to put diplomatic pressure on Pakistan so that the interests of the minorities are protected in Pakistan.
