Kathua, March 11: Time and again Distrcit police has been acting tough on interstate drug peddling rackets and have recovered large quantity of contraband in action.
Today, Kathua Police again apprehended one person hailing from Jammu who was arrested along with 06Kilograms of Ganja in the JD of Police Station Kathua and the accused was arrested along with the seized contraband on spot.
A team of Anti Drug Unit Kathua alongwith police team of said Police Station while surprise naka checking at Satkey Chak Kathua,apprehended a person namely Suresh Kumar S/O Kundan Lal R/o Narwal District Jammu who was enroute jammu from Ludhiana.Seeing the search going on,he deboarded the bus far behind tha naka point and tried to cross the checkpoint by foot without getting identified but remained unsuccessful and the team finally nabbed him.
On physical search,respective police team was able to recover 06 kilograms of Ganja like contraband substance from his possession.
On this,a case FIR No. 125/2021 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in concerned Police Station and further investigation is underway.
