Jammu, October 25:
The first day of the four-day Ranji Trophy at the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar was named after the batsmen. The bowlers of Jammu and Kashmir forced the visiting Rajasthan batsmen to kneel.
For Jammu and Kashmir, Sunil Kumar bowled brilliantly and took four wickets for just 32 runs. Aqib Nabi also managed to take three wickets.
The Rajasthan team collapsed for 152 runs in 52.5 overs in the first innings on the first day. In reply, the Jammu and Kashmir team also did not start well till the end of the first day’s play. The team scored 66 runs for the loss of two wickets in 24 overs.
Jammu and Kashmir team captain Paras Dogra won the toss and decided to bowl first.
IPL player DL Chahar scored 23 runs in 32 balls.
Sunil Kumar batted brilliantly for Jammu and Kashmir, taking four wickets for 32 runs in 14.5 overs. Aqib Nabi also took three wickets for 29 runs in 14 overs, while Yudhvir Singh took two and Abid Mushtaq got one wicket.
In reply, the Jammu and Kashmir team has scored 66 runs for the loss of two wickets in 24 overs till the end of the first day’s play, while Rajasthan still has a lead of 86 runs.
Shubham Khajuria is unbeaten on 16 runs in 60 balls. Captain Paras Dogra is also unbeaten on 19 runs in 30 balls. The team has lost two wickets in the form of Kamran Iqbal (24 runs) and Yawar Hasan (1 run).
For Rajasthan, DL Chahar and AV Chaudhary took one wicket each.
