Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has alleged that he and others were prevented from going to the martyrs’ graveyard and offering prayers. He has questioned the administration, calling this incident against democratic values.
The Chief Minister said, we were not allowed to go to the martyrs’ graveyard and read the Fatiha yesterday. We were kept locked in our homes since morning. I informed the control room that I wanted to go there and read the Fatiha, but within a few minutes a bunker was erected outside my house.
Omar Abdullah further said that even today an attempt was made to stop him from going there. He asked, under which law have we been stopped from going there? Has remembering the martyrs become a crime now?
He said whenever we want, we will come here to pay tribute to the martyrs.
