Chief Minister Omar Abdullah recently acknowledged the fact that Jammu suffered more damage than Kashmir due to floods and rains. “We have prepared a proposal based on the assessment of the damage and submitted it to the central government,” he said. Apart from this, the Chief Minister said that the reservation policy of the state will be made in line with the decision given by the Supreme Court.
He said that there was no change in the reservation policy during the tenure of the National Conference. Without naming the PDP and the People’s Conference, he said, “Those who are roaming here as open merit. General category contractors, who came to protest outside my house. Where were they at that time, when the reservation quota was being increased here. Why did these people not protest at that time.
The report of the Cabinet Sub-Committee has come. We want that reservation in Jammu and Kashmir should not exceed the maximum limit of 50 per cent. On the flood relief package, Omar Abdullah said that in the year 2014. There was more damage in Kashmir, but this time there has been more damage in Jammu than Kashmir. It is expected that soon a practical package will be released for Jammu province.
