Jammu, August 26:
Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (NC) on Monday released its first list of candidates for the assembly elections. 18 names have been announced in this list, including retired Justice Hussain Masoodi from Pampore, Mohammad Khalil Band from Pulwama, Abdul Majeed Larmi from Anantnag West, Khalid Najeeb from Doda.
On the other hand, after BJP, now Congress has also clarified its position regarding Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The party has formed an alliance with National Conference in the valley. Under this, Congress will field its candidates on 32 seats in the state. Whereas National Conference will contest on 51 seats. Apart from this, both will field their candidates on five seats.
On the seat sharing, state Congress chief Tariq Hameed Karra said that the National Conference will contest 51 seats, Congress 32 and we have agreed to have a friendly but disciplined contest on five seats. Apart from these 88 seats, we have left one seat for the CPI(M) and one seat for the Panthers Party.
