NBF chairperson condemns political killings, alleges intelligence failure

Jammu, August 13:
Tarun Uppal, Chairperson Nirbhay Bharat Foundation (NBF) while condemning the grenade attack on the family of BJP activist in Rajouri killing an infant and injuring six others, has raised serious concern over the role of intelligence in providing advance information of the anticipated terror attacks.
In a statement issued to mercury times, the NBF Chairperson while condemning all the killings by the terrorists expressed condolences with the bereaved. He asserted that such mindless attacks shall achieve nothing except for mounting the miseries of the common people and demanded that the perpetrators of this heinous act should be brought to justice. He added that the terrible news of these killings is heart wrenching and deserve strongest condemnation in unequivocal terms. Moreover, such dastardly acts don’t augur well for the furtherance of lasting peace in this Union Territory.
Tarun Uppal on one hand the Govt is talking about holding elections claiming that situation in the J&K is peaceful now but at the same time such attacks on the political leaders are continuing unabated. He alleged that intelligence agencies have failed to play their vital role in the Jammu and Kashmir as a result of which the political activists are falling soft targets to the terrorists thus giving a big jolt to the process of installing a democratically elected government in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Nirbhay Bharat Foundation Chairperson appealed to the Centre to take serious note of political killings in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory and initiate proactive measures to the merciless killings with innocent people falling victims to terrorists’ bullets.
