Ramban, August 3:
Incessant rains in Jammu and Kashmir have affected many areas, if we talk about Udhampur. The movement of vehicles on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) has been temporarily stopped in both directions. This occurred due to landslides and debris in the Dewal area of the district.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has deployed staff and heavy machinery at the spot.
The work of removing debris and repairing the road is going on a war footing.
On the other hand, the administration has appealed to the passengers to avoid traveling on this route until the concerned authorities declare the highway completely safe and issue an official notice to reopen, as well as take the latest information about traffic and weather before traveling.
