On Saturday, National Conference leaders strongly reacted to the policies of the Central Government in Jammu and Kashmir, especially the Waqf Bill and the mandate. National Conference spokesperson Tanveer Sadiq said that there has been a wide debate on two major issues. Describing the Waqf Bill as against Muslims and minorities, they opposed it. Sadiq said that this bill is an attack on the rights of the minority community.
Apart from this, he called for respecting the mandate and said that those who do not do so, insult the mandate. Do not mistake our unity for weakness, do not push us against the wall, and asked the central government to respect the mandate.
Leader of the Legislative Party in the Assembly and Congress leader Nizamuddin Bhat said that all the MLAs of the alliance stand firmly behind the leader of the House. Bhat said that sensitive issues like Waqf and the mandate of a popular government will be resolved by talking to the Raj Bhavan and the central government. He also said that some people may be trying to spoil the peace, but these efforts will fail.
