Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta on Monday said that commitment of the party towards welfare of all sections of society can be gauged by the fact that it is eager to vaccinate all the people of the country free of cost.
The former deputy Chief Minister was addressing the working committee meeting of District Jammu here at Party Headquarters Jammu. Vinay Gupta District President, Ashok Khajuria, Yudhvir Sethi and Anuradha Charak Vice Presidents and Advocate Sunil Sethi, Spokesperson were also present.
In a statement issued to mercury times, Kavinder lauded the extraordinary efforts which the party workers took during the pandemic time to facilitate the people affected by the Covid exigencies. He said that the significant role played by BJP in providing succor to the people across the country in the shape of providing food, oxygen, assistance in hospitals, etc is the rare example of philanthropy and social service. He said that local BJP has complemented the initiatives taken by the PM Modi led BJP government in combating COVID-19. The senior BJP leader said that BJP is committed to provide free vaccination to the 138 crore people of the country. “The way the BJP government has strengthened the healthcare edifice during emergent situation is not seen anywhere in the world as governments in other countries were struggling to save their small populations but PM Modi led government took unprecedented steps including arrangement of oxygen through air, rail and road, and other facilities like DRDO COVID hospitals to fight corona effectively”, he said, adding that PM CARES Fund helped a lot in strengthening healthcare edifice proving farsightedness of PM Modi. The former Deputy Chief Minister motivated the party workers to strengthen booth level in making people aware about the policies and achievements of BJP during their seven years rule in the country. He also asked party Corporators to work for people and make all possible efforts in addressing their demands efficiently. Vinay Gupta, District President, presented welcome address and presented last three months report of BJP Jammu district unit. He said that the party cadre has left no stone unturned to ensure all the basic facilities and essential items to the people during second wave of Covid-19. He also asked them to monitor shortfalls on various counts especially faced by poor and under-privileged sections and apprise the administration and party on regular basis. Advocate Sunil Sethi, Spokesperson of J&K BJP said that party is on toes to ensure justice for Jammu region by projecting apprehensions and facts before the Delimitation Commission. He said that age-old discrimination with region will not be tolerated anymore and for this BJP is taking every possible step. Yudhvir Sethi threw light on works done under Sewa Hi Sangathan Hai Abhiyan. He said that ‘Seva Hi Sangathan Hai’ has proved to be a boon in the direction of achieving success in battle against the pandemic across the nation despite the speculations of anticipated third wave.
Yudhvir said that the way Prime Minister Narendra Modi initiated process of thinking out of the box has lead to many ground breaking achievements in the country with manufacturing of vaccine against COVID-19, inspiring people to remain indoors without breaking the chain of supply of necessary goods and so many others.
Ashok Khajuria, Anju Dogra, Charanjit Khalsa, Baldev Baloria, Ankush Gupta, Kuldeep Kandhari, both General Secretaries, Mandal Presidents Lucky Puri, Gandhi Nagar and Bharat Bhushan, Satwari were also present.
