Yudhvir Sethi, senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and the Vice President BJP Jammu and Kashmir while advising the protesting KP employees to resume their duties has appealed to the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to release the withheld salaries of these employees in view of the festive Diwali season ahead. He expressed this during a meeting with the members of a deputation of Kashmiri Pandit (KP) employees under PM’s Employment Package posted in Kashmir Valley, presently protesting in Jammu, who had called on him here today.
The members of the delegation brought to the notice of Yudhvir Sethi the multiple issues being faced by the PM Package employees who are protesting for granting them secure postings at safe places outside the valley. They said that their miseries have multiplied after the Union Territory Administration ordered withholding of their salaries. This has made it very difficult to meet their family expenditures especially the fees of their children studying in various educational institutions, they lamented. They apprised the senior BJP leader that the UT Administration must immediately release their withheld salaries.
The deputation members told Yudhvir Sethi that the protesting KP employees are in Jammu due to extraordinary situation resulting due to target killings in the Valley and they don’t want to become cannon fodder of the terrorists. They said that right to live a life free of any fret or fear is the fundamental right of all the citizens of the nation including the KP employees. They are willing to serve diligently and devotedly in the Govt establishments as honest and sincere employees but at locations where the threat of killings does not exist at all.
Yudhvir Sethi after listening patiently to the woes narrated to him by the KP employees discussed some of the issues in detail with the delegation members. He assured them that the Govt stands fully committed to provide safe and secure atmosphere to the government employees including the PM Package KP employees posted in the Valley. He told them that even the Home Minister Amit Shah during his visit to J&K has made it amply clear that Govt will not tolerate terrorism at any cost.
Yudhvir Sethi advised the deputation of Kashmir based employees to have faith in Modi Govt as the situation in Kashmir Valley has changed a lot after abrogation of Art 370 and presently the Govt is working to make Kashmir absolutely peaceful and safe destination not only for the employees but also for the tourists who have been marking record footfall in J&K especially in the ongoing Tourist season.
