A slight decline in the number of devotees is being seen at Katra. The base place of Mata Vaishno Devi, as the weekend holidays are over. While a large number of devotees had reached for the darshan during the weekend. But the crowd was relatively less on Tuesday.
By 6 pm on Tuesday, 21 thousand pilgrims had registered and left for the Bhawan and there were four hours left for the registration booth to close. The administration is monitoring and making arrangements for the pilgrims in an effective manner. All basic facilities like drinking water, sanitation, medical aid, and rest houses are being provided smoothly to the pilgrims at Katra. Due to the joint efforts of the police, administration and the Shrine Board, the pilgrims are not facing any inconvenience.
According to local traders and hoteliers, the business increased a lot due to the huge crowd on weekends and now even on normal days, there is a regular influx of visitors. Devotees also seem satisfied with the pilgrimage. Rakesh Gupta, a devotee from Delhi, said that he has come for the first time to visit Mata Vaishno Devi. The journey was very smooth and pleasant. There was no problem on the entire way. The administration has made good arrangements.
