Jammu, August 14:
An incident of cloudburst has been reported in Chishoti village of Pader subdivision of Kishtwar district. Several houses have been damaged in this natural disaster. There has been heavy loss of life and property.
According to sources, 17 bodies have been recovered so far. While many others are still reported missing. Two bridges in the village, a traditional wooden bridge and the other a bridge built under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, have also been completely destroyed. Due to this, traffic on the Machail Mata Yatra route has come to a halt.
As soon as the information was received, the local administration and relief teams reached the spot. So that relief, rescue, medical assistance and temporary shelter can be provided to the affected people.
The difficult geography of the area and bad weather are hampering relief work, but administrative officials are constantly monitoring the situation. Efforts are being made to provide all possible help to the affected families.
There is mourning in Chishoti village due to this tragic incident, while the movement of devotees on Machail Yatra has also been affected. Relief work is going on.
