Jammu, October 4:
Indian Railways is rapidly working to strengthen its infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. The Railways has decided to lay a new third rail line from Jammu to Jalandhar, Punjab, which will boost rail traffic in the region and provide better passenger amenities.
Upon completion of this project, the Jammu to Jalandhar rail section will become a three-track section, increasing rail traffic and providing more convenience to passengers. Currently, the Jammu-Jalandhar rail route is a double-track section, which is experiencing increasing pressure from rail traffic.
The expansion of rail service to Kashmir is expected to further increase the number of trains on this route. Keeping this in mind, the Railways has already begun planning for additional tracks. According to railway officials, this project is extremely important considering the growing rail traffic, strategic needs, and passenger convenience in the Jammu and Kashmir region.
The construction of the third line will balance the operation of freight and passenger trains, improving both travel time and operating costs. Railway officials also say that this project will give a new direction to Jammu and Kashmir’s transportation network. In the coming years, the completion of this third rail line will not only provide convenience to passengers but will also strengthen the Jammu region economically and strategically.
