The continuous rain in Jammu division has completely ruined the maize crop. The early sown crop has already fallen and broken. While the late sown crop has also been affected to a great extent.
Farmers say that water does not stay in the Kandi fields. But still the rain was so heavy that the crops were ruined. Due to the wind blowing after the rain, the rain has had an impact, but the strong wind destroyed the maize crops.
Maize crops are grown on 18740 hectares of land in the Kandi areas of Jammu, but this time the crop grown on 5000 hectares of land has been affected by the rain. There has been considerable damage in Thalodi, Baguna, Dagor, Birpur, Mansal, Mandal, Wadi Khad, Dansal areas.
Farmers say that apart from maize, millet and pulses have also been destroyed. The farmers suffered losses as pulses grown in 1000 hectares were hit by rain.
