On this occasion, Mahant Rohit Shastri said that the land of Jammu and Kashmir has been an eternal center of Shaivism. Acharya Abhinavagupta, the great poet Kalhana, Vilhana and many ancient Sanskrit sages have originated in this holy land. The Acharyas who had paved the way to unite not only India but the whole world with their penance, the same Punyasalila Jammu-Kashmir Vasundhara is becoming extinct from Sanskrit today.
At present, due to the lack of Sanskrit Gurukul’s in Jammu and Kashmir, the students who want to study Sanskrit are worried. Shastri urged Shankaracharya Ji that if you establish a Sanskrit Gurukul in Jammu and Kashmir, then it is possible to restore the lost Sanskrit religious philosophy in the state. Rohit Shastri said that there is a need to discuss the factors responsible for the growth of the Sanskrit language in the state for a positive outcome on this issue. Jammu is famous all over the world as the city of temples, but Sanskrit students are facing a lack of facilities and adequate opportunities.
