Like Kashi Ganga, Raghunath ji’s Maha Arati started in Jammu

The historic Raghunath temple once again became a witness to history. Like Kashi Ganga, the Jammu Maha Arati of Shri Raghunath ji was started in Jammu. A huge crowd of city dwellers gathered to see it. Everyone was mesmerized by the divinity and grandeur of the aarti started on the occasion of Makar Sankranti.
Jammu Tourism Development Association had been preparing for this since the past 6 months. The Aarti started with Jyot Poojan. After this its Shri Ganesh was done. The Aarti was done in five stages in the first Aarti with incense, second with agarbatti, third with naag aarti. Fourth with badi aarti and fifth with peacock feathers and flowers. In this 51 jyoti were lit simultaneously.
The Aarti started at 6 pm and ended at 7 pm.
The enthusiasm was more than expected. 19 organizations including the Tourism Development Association and Raghunath Bazaar Association have prepared a corridor for this. The head of the Tourism Development Association, Rajesh Gupta, says that thousands of people turned up to see the aarti. This is more than expected.
