Jammu, February 6:
For three years, the team of Mission Shakti has been fulfilling its pledge to empower the women of Jammu. Since its inception in February 2022, more than 4,000 women of the district have benefited through Mission Shakti. Some of these women are also providing employment to other women after setting up their own employment.
Under Mission Shakti, apart from education and employment, women are also helped in getting many basic facilities.
Mission Shakti provided training to women in a village of Bishnah tehsil to make fast food through SBI Bank. Many women of the village participated in the training and learned to make fast food. After this, two women received government loan with the help of Mission Shakti. Now both the women have opened two fast food shops in Bishnah. Both the women are also providing employment to four people.
After getting government help, she is making toys. An awareness camp was organized by Mission Shakti in Saror district.
After this, Neeru Kumari, a resident of Sarror, applied for a loan. Mission Shakti helped Neeru in completing the necessary documentation. With the money received from the loan, she has started a business of making toys.
Mission Shakti’s district coordinator Shagun Manchanda said that Mission Shakti is a scheme of the central government.
In these camps, women are given training ranging from self-defense, legal awareness to skills and personality development. If a woman wants to do employment, then along with teaching her skills, she is also shown the way to financial help.
Women have been helped in different ways through more than 25 government departments and institutions under Mission Shakti. Apart from this, awareness and training camps are regularly organized by Mission Shakti in the district.
