Jammu, March 1:
The Jammu (Rural) Police foiled two attempts of cattle smuggling in Akhnoor sub-division. Police also rescued a total of three bovines safely.
During a routine check at Naka Point Garkhal, the team of BPP Garkhal recovered two bovines from an auto load carrier (JK08L-1834).
The police seized the vehicle and arrested the driver. The driver identified as Gahara Chand of Pindi Rajpura, Pargwal.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 37/2026, Section 223 BNS and Section 11 PCA Act at Police Station Akhnoor.
Meanwhile a team from PP Chowki Chaura rescued a bovine. Police also arrested one near Tali Mor, Reasi in Kathar area.
The arrested person has been identified as Abdul Shahid, son of Abdul Rehman, resident of Ward No. 08, Reasi.
A case has been registered under FIR number 39/2026, Section 223 BNS and Section 11 PCA Act at police station Akhnoor.
The police are investigating both the cases further.
