Srinagar, November 10:
The Jammu and Kashmir Police has busted a large inter-state and international terror network. The network was linked to banned terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind.
The success led to the arrest of several key terror accused and recovery of a huge quantity of arms, ammunition from their possession.
According to the police, on October 19, 2025, several JeM posters were put up in Bunpora, Nowgam, Srinagar, threatening the police and security forces.
Subsequently, FIR No. 162/2025 was registered and the investigation began.
The investigation revealed that the group was engaged in recruitment, coordination, collection of funds and logistics through encrypted channels. The funds were being raised through professional and educational networks, under the pretext of social or charitable causes. The accused used to work to identify people for terrorism, radicalise them and collect material for making weapons/IEDs.
The main accused arrested:
- Arif Nisar Dar Sahil, Nagaon, Srinagar
- Yasir-ul-Ashraf, Nowgam, Srinagar
- Maqsood Ahmad Dar Shahid, Naogam, Srinagar
- Maulvi Irfan Ahmed, Shopian
- Zameer Ahmad Ahangar Mutlasha, Wakura, Ganderbal
- Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Musaib, Koil, Pampore
- During the investigation, joint search operations were conducted at Srinagar, Anantnag, Ganderbal, Shopian, Faridabad and Saharanpur.
