Jammu Fire Incident: Homes turned to ashes in a moment

Jammu, June 24:
There was chaos for hours due to the fire incident in Maratha Basti situated on Trikuta Nagar Railway Road of Jammu city on Sunday evening. People present in the colony were seen running to safer places to escape the fire. 150 people became homeless due to this tragic incident.
During the fire, most of the men in the colony had gone to work as daily wage earners, due to which there was no success in controlling the fire immediately. Due to the explosion of many gas cylinders kept in the colony, the fire spread so fast that no one got a chance to stay there.
A large number of people from the surrounding areas had reached the spot. Many people were helping the firefighters by giving them water etc. But due to the fire, the smoke spread a lot and the firefighters also had difficulties in moving forward. Many people were saddened to see their homes burning in front of their eyes.
The fire vehicles could not reach from one side where the fire broke out. Due to this, the fire had to be controlled from a distance but it could not be controlled.
