Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale said that there was a time when tourists were afraid to come to Jammu and Kashmir. This has changed after the removal of Article 370. Now tourists are coming to Jammu and Kashmir without any fear.
The minister was in Jammu on Thursday to attend a program. In the press conference, he said that the removal of Article 370 was a very big step. It has strengthened development in Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorism was eradicated and employment opportunities were created.
The central government is committed to this and the state’s status will be restored soon. He said that more than 2.5 crore tourists have come after the removal of Article 370. The state’s economy runs on tourism. The minister praised the high voter turnout in Jammu and Kashmir in the assembly elections held last year.
He said, although the alliance of National Conference and Congress came to power, it does not make any difference to us because we are with the people and want development of the region. When asked about the incident of rape of a 26-year-old woman in a bus at the busy Swargate bus stand in Pune, Athawale said that such incidents are condemnable and heart-wrenching. He said, we demand that the culprits of such incidents should be hanged. Spoke on opposition to Hindi
On the opposition to imposition of Hindi in Tamil Nadu, Athavale said that Hindi should not be opposed in the southern state as it will harm the unity and integrity of the country. He said, Hindi is spoken by about 90 to 100 crore people, while state-level languages ​​are limited to certain regions.
